Summary:

The Junior Mine Designer position is focused on mine design and scheduling (predominantly within the Deswik software suite), as well as involvement with activities directly related to the design and scheduling work as either inputs or outputs.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Deswik suite of mine planning software products across multiple customers, commodities, mine types and operations
• Provide consulting services, including mine design, production planning and scheduling
• Support cost modelling for various study phases, operational optimization projects and mine closure planning
• Work alongside highly experienced engineers, geologists and software professionals
• Be adaptable in working practices and support the mining team to deliver quality deliverables

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualification in Mining
• 0-3 years experience in the mining industry
• Experience in a computer based design and/or scheduling software (e.g. CAD)
• Underground mining experience will be considered an asset
• Knowledge of underground mine design, geotechnical, mine ventilation, mine backfill equipment, mine services productivities,mining rates, capital costs and operating costs will be considered an asset
