孵化is seeking a Structural Engineer with extensive analysis and design experience on large and small Hydropower or Dams projects. This position can be based in Seattle, WA; Boston, MA; Minneapolis, MN; Amherst, NY or Pittsburgh, PA. The Structural Engineer will be part of an engineering team providing technical support and design of concrete structures involving dams, spillways, intake structures, powerhouse, hoist support structures and stability analyses of dams and related structures.

Position reports to Regional Manager USA | Hydropower & Dams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working in a fast-paced, dynamic team with other engineers in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Structural Analysis and Design of Large and Small Hydro Power Projects.
  • Develop 3D Finite Element Models of concrete dams, and perform static & seismic analysis.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all design activities.
  • Preparing and contributing to technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise.

Core Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate in civil engineering with emphasis on structural analysis and design.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of programs such as AutoCad, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, STAAD, SAP2000.
  • Non-linear finite element stress analysis using programs such as ANSYS, ABAQUS and LS-DYNA.
  • Has completed courses in finite element analysis, structural analysis, design of reinforced concrete and structural steel design using Canadian codes and standards.

The following qualifications would be considered assets:

  • Experience in detailed structural design of hydroelectric structures.
  • Computer programming experience and use of such programs as MATLAB and FORTRAN.
  • Seismic analysis of structures.
  • Masters or PhD degree specializing in structural analysis and design.
