Senior Specialist, Community Engagement and Social Performance

Location: Calgary

In a practice thatis growing, you will be part of Hatch’s global Community Engagement and Social Performance (CESP) Practice that collaborates with clients, communities, stakeholders, and Hatch’s engineering teams to create mutuallybeneficial and sustainable metals, energy, and infrastructure projects. Hatch is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Specialist, CESP role to be an integral part of a growing globalpractice. Reporting to the Manager, Community Engagement – Western Canada, you will be responsible to提供建议,指导并生成可交付成果for clients with respect to their social performance needs.In this role, you will:

  • Provide CESP technical expertise throughout the life cycle of client projects
  • Undertake CESP project management tasks on behalf of clients
  • Engage directly with clients on their social performance challenges and helping with creativesolutions
  • Deliver CESP services with a focus on stakeholder engagement and community engagement planningand management ensuring that the full complement of CESP services are embedded within clientneeds (e.g., impact assessment and management, agreement making, community engagement andconsultation, human rights, local employment and procurement, place-based planning, and social investment services)
  • Record, research, identify and anticipate any social risks to project development, including solutionsto meet these challenges
  • Assist infrastructure, mining, and energy companies as they deliver upon their socioeconomiccommitments and develop plans to meet industry best practice
  • Develop proposals and bids and support the implementation of a CESP pursuits
  • Share your experiences with colleagues and clients at speaking events, networking events,conferences, webinars and through online blog posts

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in anthropology, social sciences, communications, law, public policy, sustainability,or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years’ stakeholder and community engagement experience across the project lifecycle on majorprojects ideally in complex cultural and socio-political environments
  • Expertise in CESP technical planning, program design and execution
  • Hatch seeks to build complementary skills across the team demonstrating comprehensive CESPpractical and advisory experience. Applicants will need to demonstrate their practical experience in the following areas.
