Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Brisbane.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Assist the Engineering Manager/Lead Mechanical Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
  • Perform engineering calculations for hydraulic systems, conveying systems and equipment sizing for mechanical equipment
  • Prepare technical specifications and design criteria based on statutory requirements, industry standards and client/project requirements
  • Perform package engineering for the complete package life cycle – preparing technical documents, technical bid evaluations and vendor data management
  • Provide input to 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings
  • Participate in and contribute to design reviews.

You will bring to the role:

  • BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working on multidiscipline engineering projects
  • Good communication, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and supervise junior team members as required
  • Working knowledge of industry standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the mechanical engineering discipline
  • Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate mechanical activities between disciplines
  • Registration as a professional engineer preferred
  • Having a can-do attitude, flexible and willing to learn new things
