Dynamic Earth Solutions (DES) specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.

Senior Hydrogeologist - Calgary

Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivatedSeniorHydrogeologistto join our Dynamic Earth Solutions group, supporting Western Canada and global projects in our three business sectors: Mining. Infrastructure and Energy.

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Join a growing team of multi-disciplinary professionals.
• Design and implement hydrogeological investigations including drilling and installation of monitoring and pumping wells, aquifer testing and groundwater quality sampling.
• Prepare factual and interpretive reporting of field data and site conditions.
• Work alongside our modelling team on numerical groundwater modelling projects, including development of conceptual hydrogeological models and reporting.
• Manage projects and/or be the hydrogeology lead on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Actively participate in business development activities such as maintaining existing and developing new client relationships
• Participate in the writing and preparation of proposals.
• Engage in the training and development of more junior team members.

You bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences, Hydrogeological Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
• Master’s degree in Hydrogeology considered an asset.
• Registered as a Professional Geoscientist or Engineer in a Canadian jurisdiction.
• 10-15 years’ relevant and progressive design and analytical experience in hydrogeology related to linear infrastructure, mining and tailings groundwater management, water supply, and/or contaminant hydrogeology.
• Experience with groundwater modelling software is an asset.
• Safety leadership
• An ability to work on projects in a multi-disciplinary environment with minimal supervision.
• A desire to improve your leadership skills through successful mentoring and guidance of more junior team members
• Experience with project management and proposal preparation
