OurTechnologies teamcommercializes and delivers technologies across all three of Hatch's sectors: Metals, Energy, Infrastructure. We're a team of innovators and problem solvers who deliver custom and specialized engineering to deliver novel solutions and technologies.

The Role (includes but is not limited to):

· Perform detailed design of custom mechanical systems and proprietary Hatch equipment

· Ideation and conceptual layout of a broad spectrum of machines and systems

· Apply engineering principles and perform calculations for custom mechanical equipment, including statics and dynamics (and ideally thermal, fluids, fluid power, Finite Element Analysis, and reliability analysis as well)

· 3D model preparation as well as drawing production using 3D CAD packages such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor (and review and checking thereof)

· Collaborate with process, structural and control system engineers, and designers in the detailed design of custom equipment, including equipment design reviews, design development and process hazard review studies

· Assist the Engineering Manager/Project Manager with the delivery of proposal or project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and schedule

· Evaluate equipment/technology selection trade-off studies, including evaluation of suitable materials of construction, constructability assessments, vendor/fabrication shop sourcing.

· Prepare or contribute to technical project deliverables potentially including equipment specification packages, datasheets, reports, presentations, cost estimates, design basis, mechanical design criteria, operating philosophy, operations and maintenance manual, and proposals

· Mentor, oversee and review the work of other less experienced engineers and designers

· Carry out assigned tasks within budget and on schedule

About you:

· Mechanical Degree from a recognized University, with 8+ years working experience

· Fully fluent in Spanish and can communicate technical information clearly in English (additional languages are further beneficial)

· Proven working knowledge of 3D data centric design systems and associated deliverables (3D parametric modeling, live-views fabrication and assembly drawings, etc.)

· Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions

· Experienced in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects

· Working knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to the mechanical engineering discipline

· Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate mechanical activities between disciplines

· A large breadth and depth of practical experience

· Adept at working with, mentoring, and potentially managing junior designers and/or engineers

· Adapts to and embraces change

· Registration as a professional engineer is preferred
